THE HEALING POWER OF DRUMMING
CreativeRhythms offers interactive rhythm and drumming group sessions. Whether it’s through our monthly community rhythm and drumming circles, specific groups circles, and or corporate trainings. We use drums and other percussion instruments (which are provided) to create a rhythmic beat and invite participants to actively participate by playing the instruments as best as they can. We also provide guidance on how to use the instruments, incorporate movement and other therapeutic techniques into the sessions for our specific group sessions.
Gail Jackson is a trained Global Drum Circle Facilitator Trainer, and has been facilitating interactive rhythm and drumming group sessions for many years. She has developed a variety of techniques and approaches to assist people of all ages and abilities to benefit from the healing power of rhythm and drumming. She may also incorporate other modalities like breathing exercises, and mindful awareness practices to enhance the overall experience of the sessions. Some benefits of drumming are: better listening skills, creativity, reduced stress, sense of community, empowerment and an overall sense of well being.
Our interactive rhythm and drumming events use drums, percussion instruments, the voice, and movement. It’s a participatory experience where people come together to create and play music in the moment using a variety of instruments. This includes drums from many different countries such as: Africa, Cuba, Middle East, Native American, Brazil, as well as other percussion instruments like shakers, wood blocks, tambourines, and bells. Participants may also use their voices to sing or chant, and incorporate movement and dance into the playing. These events can be used for educational purposes, team building, relaxation, therapeutic, celebrations and entertainment. As the drum circle facilitator, I will guide the group in creating rhythms, melodies, and may incorporate games and exercises to assist the participants to explore their creativity, develop their musical listening skills, empowerment, create community and connection.
All programs can be modified to best fit our clients needs as well as the participants, for the best possible experience.
