As we move into December let’s continue the beat. Connecting through rhythm and community.

You will learn some basic drumming rhythms to pull from when we drum and create rhythm as a community.

No experience necessary. All ages are welcome.

Instruments provided or bring your own.

No shoes are allowed in the Studio.

The studio is handicapped accessible please call ahead and arrive early for access.

Investment is for ages 18+.

No need to register! Come one, come all! No experience necessary and open to all ages. Let’s come together and create rhythms together with percussion instruments and drums. Gail will teach a few rhythms so the group will have some rhythms to add to the circle or make up their own. Instruments are provided or bring your own.

Welcoming in the Light, is the last of the grant series from the Alaska State Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts and the Rasmuson Foundation on Arts Health and Well Being in Alaska. The art of sound is one of the art forms to begin the conversation on how the arts affects health, well being and addresses isolation in Alaska. Stop in from the cold and allow the vibrations from the sounds lead you in conversation with your neighbor. This is a free event that takes place in the atrium of the library.
